Matilda The Musical
By Roald Dahl

Book by Dennis Kelly

Music & Lyrics by Tim Minchin

The story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly lovable Miss Honey. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and loves thinking up new punishments. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus

By Andrew J. Fenady

Based on the teleplay by Val DeCrow and Andrew J Fenady

Inspired by a poignant letter written over 100 years ago by an 8-year-old to the editor of the New York Sun – and their timeless response.

Virginia wondered and wrote: “Dear Editor, I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it’s so. Please tell the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?” Ed Mitchell, the Sun’s editor, gives the assignment of answering Virginia’s letter to Frank Church who, until his wife and baby died last Christmas Eve, was the Sun’s best and most dependable reporter. Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus is a play for young and old, magically reaffirming life’s highest beauty and joy – “the Eternal light with which childhood fills the world.”

Waverly Gallery

By Kenneth Longergan

A wacky and heartrending look at the effect of senility on a family.

A powerfully poignant and often hilarious play, The Waverly Gallery is about the final years of a generous, chatty, and feisty grandmother’s final battle against Alzheimer’s disease. Gladys is an old-school lefty and social activist and longtime owner of a small art gallery in Greenwich Village. The play explores her fight to retain her independence and the subsequent effect of her decline on her family, especially her grandson. More than a memory play, The Waverly Gallery captures the humor and strength of a family in the face of crisis.

Laughter on the 23rd Floor

By Neil Simon

“Maybe we’ll never have this much fun again in our entire lives.”

Playwright Neil Simon got his first big break in the early ’50s as a staff writer on Sid Caesar’s fabled television series Your Show of Shows. This comedy takes a fictionalized look at the backstage chaos that went into producing one of the landmarks of television’s golden age, as the harried writing staff frantically scrambles to top each other with gags while competing for the attention of star madman “Max Prince.”
